Downtown Henderson Visioning session planned tonight (8/27/09, Friday (8/28/09)

The Downtown Henderson Project will continue accepting ideas tonight and Friday from city and county residents, business owners, students and organizations concerning the future of the central business district.

Tonight, there will be a session from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Henderson County Public Library . And on Friday there will be a session for students at Henderson County High School.
The DHP said it intends to use public comments to help it address issues, develop strategies and envision new opportunities and possibilities for downtown.

The public visioning sessions are part of a larger strategic planning process that the DHP will undertake this fall as it develops plans and activities for next year and several years beyond.

The responses to questions offer insights as to what kinds of businesses might be successful and what should be preserved in the downtown.

These sessions will provide an opportunity to gain the community’s perspective on what the downtown could look like, how it could function, how it might be different or better 10 or 20 years from now.

Barbara Wold – Deliver Better Customer Service by Having “FUN”
One of the biggest reasons customers do not return is they have no reason to. Sure they might get what they want, but they often get it with “no” personality, “no” sparkle and “no” sizzle. Their experience is a dud. There is nothing memorable about the experience.

Are you leaving the fun and playful part of your personality at the front door each day? For many, work is a place to be serious – fun happens on vacation and away from work. We need to accept fun as another element of the workplace.

Companies that enjoy tremendous customer loyalty offer their customers something they can’t get anywhere else —FUN! They provide an unexpected, positive experience. The employees enjoy their work, each other and their customers. They find ways to bring fun and joy into their work and they bring their customers along for the ride.

Have Fun at Work

  • Fun Increases productivity
  • Laughing reduces stress
  • Acting silly requires maturity
  • Fun is a “natural social glue”
  • Having fun gets the job done
  • Have fun with your customers
