The Downtown Henderson Project will continue accepting ideas tonight and Friday from city and county residents, business owners, students and organizations concerning the future of the central business district.
Tonight, there will be a session from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Henderson County Public Library . And on Friday there will be a session for students at Henderson County High School.
The DHP said it intends to use public comments to help it address issues, develop strategies and envision new opportunities and possibilities for downtown.
The public visioning sessions are part of a larger strategic planning process that the DHP will undertake this fall as it develops plans and activities for next year and several years beyond.
The responses to questions offer insights as to what kinds of businesses might be successful and what should be preserved in the downtown.
These sessions will provide an opportunity to gain the community’s perspective on what the downtown could look like, how it could function, how it might be different or better 10 or 20 years from now.
