Memories Past and Present’s 8 Year Anniversary

Memories Past and Present opened in February, 2004, in a vintage 1928 home on Main Street in downtown Henderson, KY, and features antiques and new gift items. After 5 years and growing to occupy all three floors of the home , the opportunity came along for Roy and Carolyn Dorsey, owners, to purchase a new 9,000 sq ft. building on Elm Street, also in downtown Henderson.

This location has allowed the shop to expand and give the customer a more spacious place in which to browse all the beautiful items offered. Memories is not your run of the mill antique store as anyone who has visited will tell you. It has an upscale boutique feel and offers a variety of antique furniture, china, crystal, wall decor, vintage jewelry and linens, collectibles such as retired Precious Moments, Hallmark Ornaments, Department 56, Norman Rockwell, Boyds and more! The gift lines carried blend beautifully with the antiques and feature angels (including a large selection of Willow Tree), tea items, gifts for wedding, anniversary, baby and much more.

Memories will be celebrating its 8th Anniversary on Friday and Saturday, February 17 and 18, 10 am to 5 pm. Hot Valentine Cider, home-baked refreshments, Free Gift with a $20 purchase & register for a $100 value door prize!

You can also visit Memories by visiting their website www.hendersonmemories.com where you can view their online inventory. For more information call (270)844-0014.

Girls Night Out

Grab your girlfriends and head to Downtown Henderson Thursday, December 8th for Girls Night Out. We have 16 different businesses who will be keeping their doors open until 8:00pm. Learn how to wear a scarf, dress for a holiday party or just enjoy a little retail therapy after a long day of work.

After shopping enjoy live music by Adam Blythe and drink specials from 8 to 10pm at Rookies!!

This event is also a benefit for the local  elementary and middle schools  weekend backpack club. The weekend backpack program is a program provided through the Family Resources Center to provide nutritious snacks to students whose families are struggling to meet their needs. FRC will identify students in need of assistance by consulting with teachers, staff and the Homeless program.  The FRC will then make contact with the family and gain consent for services. Every Friday a backpack will be filled with nutritious snack items to help many children make it through the weekend without going hungry. A percentage of the sales on the day of December 8th will go to the backpack club.

Please come out and support our local businesses and the FRC weekend backpack program. The following Downtown Businesses will be keeping their doors open until 8pm:
