[UPDATE: The archive of the 2016 Christmas Parade can be viewed at www.wsonradio.com/live ]
It is time to ring in the 2016 Holiday Season. First on the Christmas agenda is the Henderson Merchants’ Annual Invitational Christmas Parade. The Parade is sponsored by the Henderson Shrine Club and is supported through donations of the Henderson City and County Merchants. The 2016 Henderson Merchants’ Annual Invitational Christmas Parade will be held Saturday, December 3, 2016 starting promptly at 10:00 a.m. central time.
Information for Parade Participants
We cordially invite you or your group to participate in the parade. To participate this year we need to you fill out the attached questions. Please respond no later than November 25, 2016, so we can coordinate the line-up efficiently. Late entries will not be accepted this year! No exceptions.
A few rules:
1. Due to insurance regulations, no one without a driver’s license will be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle in the parade.
2. No hard candy or any other objects may be thrown into the crowd or spectators. This causes young children to run into oncoming parade traffic which could cause injury.
3. Please do not have a Santa Claus in your group as there will be a real Santa riding in the parade. The parade route will start at Fifth and Main Streets. Thursday, December 1, 2016, the parade line-up will be emailed to the email address you will list below. For line-up and staging purposes, this email will let you know exactly where your group should report on the day of the parade.
Please make sure notify your group of that information.
Judging of FLOATS
All Floats report to your respected areas assigned by parade chairman no later than 8:15 am. Corporate sponsored entries will receive recognition, but will not be eligible for prize money. Judging of the floats will begin at 8:30 a.m. The form below should be completed with all requested data on all floats entered in the parade.
Cash prizes will be awarded for floats as follows:

The parade will form at Fifth and Main streets, travel south on Main to Washington, East on Washington to Elm, then North on Elm back to Fifth where the parade will end. Approximate length of parade is one mile. We are hoping this will be the best year yet!
Thank you for your continued support of this holiday tradition!
